Scrammer Blog ยท Messages and calls
Why do scammers create urgent deadlines?
A quick way to pause, verify the situation independently, and choose a safer next step.
Unexpected messages can copy familiar names, logos, and writing styles. The safest clue is often what the sender wants you to do next.
What to do
- Do not reply, click, download, or call a number supplied by the unexpected sender.
- Find the person or organization through a website, app, statement, or saved number you already trust.
- Save only what you need for a report, then block or delete the contact when appropriate.
Keep the decision in your control
You do not need to decide immediately whether a contact is genuine. End the unexpected conversation, find a trusted contact route independently, and ask for help before sending money or information.
